Jon Montgomery began singing and performing at the tender age of eleven years old. There was Palisades Amusement Park on the big stage with Clay Cole. Bruce Morrow and Hal Jackson, the famed Apollo Theater in Harlem at twelve years old, and various streetcorners in Hell's Kitchen at anytime. He left school to take the lead in Flower Children, an off Broadway musical for Costas Omero. Jon began writing songs at an early age and became the Vocalist, main writer and arranger in all his bands. Some of which were: Sparrow, Breakwater, Street Punk, Perfect Stranger, China Blue, and Mistress. Because of his voice, performance and look, Jon's bands have opened for and toured with. The Who, the Doors, Johnny Winter, Todd Rundgren, Buzzy Linhart, Kiss and many more.

Some of the musicians Jon has worked with include: Billy Squire, Foreigner, Todd Rundgren, Kiss, Peter Tork (The Monkees), Ricky Byrd (Joan Jett), John McCurry (Cindy Lauper), Jimmy Haslip (The Yellowjackets), Billy Cross (Bob Dylan). and many more.

Jon was a session singer for The Wes Farrel Group, Atlantic Records, CBS songs, Glass House Music, McKendrie Spring ( Tracks album ).

Jon has been reviewed and written up in all the rock magazines, ( Melody Maker, Cream, Rock Scene, After Dark, The Daily News and many more ) including appearing on the cover of AFTER DARK, the magazine of Theater & Arts, in September of 1973. In the latter part of Jon's career, he turned to writing full time. He has written for film (" The King Of 42ND Street ", " In The Still Of The Night ") Theater ("The Edge", "The Miracle Age") and Musical Theater ("Hell's Kitchen - The Musical")

He has appeared in movies (Scarecrow In The Garden of Cucumbers), television (Crashing New York & Fox News Music Special with Bill McCuddy) and radio (most recently The Joey Reynolds show on WOR Radio) Jon has produced, written for and developed many young artists such as KATYA, who is now showcasing for major labels.
